| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: creative, outgoing, and influential. The three careers that match my style are: childcare worker, preschool and kindergarten teacher, and an animal control worker. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a photographer. I selected this job because I enjoy taking pictures and showing landscapes. One of my daily activities as a photographer would be to determine the desired images and picture composition, adjust subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired effects. I also have to mount, frame, laminate, or lacquer finished photographs. In addition, I have to review sets of photographs to select the best work. To work as a photographer, I need to have a high school diploma and I also have to have over one month of "on-the-job" training. I must be good at persuasion and coordination in order to become a well trained photographer. In the United States, the average salary for a photographer is $35,640 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $41,338 per year. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a photographer is expected to increase by 10.3%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016, it is expected to increase by 17.1% %. I am looking forward to becoming a photographer in the future. |
